Everybody Loves Chocolate!

You are probably asking yourself right now, "Am I on the right blog?".............and the answer is YES.
Last fall I was contracted to paint three fruit and candy designs to be used on the candy bags for these delicious chocolate covered fruit flavored candies.  I was so pleased to receive these samples in the mail.  Unfortunately for me, they are only being distributed on the west coast at this time, and I live 3,000 miles away on the east coast, so I will not be walking into my local Home Goods store and see them on the shelf.

It was a fabulous experience for me and I still get excited when I see MY work on the bags.  They even gave me credit as each and every bag reads "Artwork by Carol Schiff" followed with my website address!  How cool is that.

Now I have to decide whether to keep these bags or to eat the candy and maybe have the bags preserved in a frame.  My husband votes to eat the candy.  How do you vote?

McKean Gate Rollins College, Oil Painting of Rollins College Winter Park, FL by Judy Batterson

Walk through the McKean Gate and enter the beautiful campus of Rollins College in Winter Park! Honoring Hugh McKean, former president of Rollins, the gate is a tribute to the man who also brought the Tiffany glass collection to Winter Park. As I studied the gate, I had an "Abbey Road" flashback! Knowing that Paul McCartney's stepdaughter goes to Rollins, I decided to paint the gate with the crosswalk in mind. Chosen for the 11th Annual Paint The Town exhibition at the Gallery at Avalon Island in Downtown Orlando, opening night is March 21, 2013.

1484 The Old Garden Shed

I did this last night for a demo at the Hobe Sound Fine Art League.  I had a good time, everyone was very nice and friendly.  Lovely things to eat too.  :o)!  They are looking for some new members.

The shed is loosely based on one of the sheds at Hackberry Hammock.  They have paintouts there that are sponsored by Art Mundo.  I always have a good time when I go there to paint.  The painting is 12 x 16 inches, oil on masonite. I tweaked it a bit when I got home, I got so busy talking and answering questions I ran out of time to fix things up.   $400.

THE HUNT - MARK SCHWARTZ

22 X 30 INCHES - WATERCOLOR ON PAPER

Horizontal Point of View II, by Carol Schiff

If this painting looks familiar to you......it should! Yes, my blog header is very similar... I painted it last year in a 6x8" format and have enjoyed painting flowers every since.

$176 + 16

I liked the original painting and wanted to see if I could paint larger using this same technique.  I have to say I  was pleased with the results.

This one is 11x14, but I think it still shows the same freshness and simplicity that I was trying to obtain.

Trio de Poires Restro Eclaire, 6x8 daily painting

If you follow this blog, you may remember a post recently of three pears with backlighting,  This is another painting that I did on that same day, with the same pears, just a slightly different composition and a different view point.

$90 + 6.50

This is the original post.

Two very different paintings of the same subject matter, on the same day. Not earth shattering...but maybe a little interesting.

EMBELLISH - MARK SCHWARTZ

30 x 22 inches, watercolor on paper

Palm Afternoon, Florida Oil Landscape by Judy Batterson

In homage to the Florida Highwaymen! I found a scene that would be similar to what they painted. This 16 x 20 original oil captured a prominent palm along the coast of Florida. The sun was setting, the waves were lapping and it was the end of a beautiful afternoon.

Marsh in Spring, 6x18" gallery wrap canvas

I love viewing a marsh as the colors change with each season.  In the fall and winter, they are full of mauve and lavender color and in the spring they burst into glorious greens.

1480 Golden Grass Vista

This was from out at the Savannas, I liked how the clouds were arranged and the golden reeds lit by the sun.  Whenever I leave the state and come home to Florida I am happy to see the clouds and sky, we have the prettiest skies I have seen anywhere.  Not that I have been everywhere.  :o)
 Its 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite.  $100.
