What an awesome day today was. Haven't been able to get away from the house for plein air, and even if I could, it's so blasted hot. So I dug through some old image files to see about more garden scenes. I found lots! And since I did have to stay close, but still wanted some friggin' fresh air, I set myself up in the backyard under our huge sycamore tree - the finest tree in all of our neighborhood. When the foliage is at it's fullest, it sheds to most luscious shade over a good portion of the back yard. Add to that the cool, refreshing breeze from a fan, and I was a happy camper! And did I mention that there wasn't a single moment of irritability and discontent between the kids today? And that Matilda kitty is settling in oh so nicely? Boy - when the day passes with this much ease, I'm in heaven.
