Been a while since I did a cow painting. I love to do them, even though (dare I say it), they can sometimes seem a little too cutesy. At some point in every day, I pass this scene on my way to see my mom. Each night the black cows are out for the evening. I love the green of the grass and the way the sun sets over the cows' backs. It's not easy to paint them impressionistically. I must always remember that for me, just a hint of what's there is all I need to keep me happy. As I've said many a time - too much detail and surveying of the land deadens my work and leaves me very disgruntled.
