I did the first "Clyde's Cattle" just about a year ago during a trip to GA with my girlfriends. I remember the day perfectly, and recall being ever so grateful that these particular cows stood still long enough for me to pencil them into the composition. That would have been just about 5 minutes. I was thrilled with the eventual outcome of that painting because it felt as though it unfolded magically, and really touched on so many of the quests I have in my painting. I had had a very long and dry spell of not being happy with much of anything that came off my knife, and the painting brought me back to the possibilities and hope for better things. Deciding a year later to give it another go in different colors was kind of scary. Why would I want to make another attempt at success with failure lurking right around the corner? Not sure, but revisiting the scene made for a content afternoon. What's more - I am delighted with this one too!
