I passed by this location a few weeks ago, and the boat was still pulled up on the shoreline where I had painted it
earlier. An afternoon thunderstorm, typical of Florida afternoons, had moved on, and the sunlight broke through the clouds. This 16 x 20 original oil is now headed for an upcoming event in Central Florida.

Lake Lily Ladies, Impressionist Plein Air Florida Oil Painting by Judy Batterson
Joining with a group of plein air painters, I set up my easel on the north side of Lake Lily in Maitland, FL. It was late afternoon, so we had to capture the sun and shadows quickly. Without a lot of details, I focused on three trees across the lake. The impressions of darks and lights were extreme as the sun dropped fast. This is the resulting painting and a special memory of Lake Lily. 9"H x 12"W $225 (sold)

Charlotte Harbor, DMannion
Diane Mannion, Charlotte Harbor, 6x6" oil
No, it's not a shark fin. A dolphin swam right in front of me! The
water's shallow here and I'm pretty sure she was playing with a
newborn. Dolphins gently poke the babies with their noses and push them
around in shallow water teaching them to swim and surface for air. A
beautiful sight!
Technical details on my blog.
