Florida has a unique wildlife corridor in the center of the state called the Wekiva River Preserve State Park. There are hiking trails along with canoe and kayak runs in pristine wilderness. The people who have houses nearby see bears, ospreys and eagles. And at night, without the lights of the city, the moon has a magical glow. Framed oil. Now on exhibit at my solo show "For the Love of Florida" at Leu Gardens in Orlando.

Wekiva Moon, Night Florida Landscape by Judy Batterson Florida Artist
"Wekiva Moon"is a small 8x8 oil on black gallery wrapped canvas. I have several friends who live on large properties along the Wekiva River. When the moon is full, it shines like a spotlight on the land below. No urban lights diffuse it. My challenge was to capture this night scene on black canvas without any black paint!
