Inspired by the peacefulness of these journeys, the artist has developed a unique painting style that combines elements of Neurographica, a technique pioneered by Pavel Piskarev, with their own innovative approach. Characterized by flowing curves, distinctive shapes, and vibrant colors, the Water Gardens paintings offer viewers an immersive experience reminiscent of the calming atmosphere of nature. This is one of my latest Solar Intaglio Prints of my FAVORITE FROG! The drawing was etched onto a polymer plate by exposure to the sun. The plate was inked by me in the traditional method of intaglio printmaking and hand pulled on an etching press. After the print was pulled I hand tinted it with watercolors. There is nothing that captures my eye than a scampering iridescent beetle across the forest floor. This is one of the largest ground beetles in the USA that is iridescent...It is called the Fiery Searcher AKA....Caterpillar Hunter! As it's name implies it feasts on caterpillars. This painting combines, colored pencil and watercolor pencils. It is part of my online class- Experimenting with Colored Pencils.

The Spectacle Owl , Pulsatrix perspicillata is the first owl I ever saw in the wild. I was walking in the rainforest on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica when suddenly I felt as if I was being watched. I looked around and didn't see anything, until I looked up. The gaze of an owl staring at you is piercing. I stopped dead in my tracks and watched this magnificent raptor. I will never forget that moment. This painting was done from a rescued owl at the Toucan Rescue Ranch. They rehabilitate all rainforest birds found in Costa Rica.

They have all the Neo-Tropical Owls and when possible the birds are released back into the wild. This listing is for an original colored pencil and PanPastel paintings on Stonehenge Kraft Paper. It is unframed. 25% of the sale will go towards donating funds to the Toucan Rescue Ranch.
