Big Dog Painting
Always Smiling
Acrylic on Canvas, 23 in. x 22 in.
"Always Smiling" won 3rd prize in the Art Center Sarasota Juried Members' Show. The opening is Thursday, March 22, from 5-7. Doing a large painting was refreshing after working on small, daily paintings. I like to use a bold, simple composition. I focused on the warm and cool color relationships, and used glazes in some areas. When I'm not painting outside, I'm usually painting an animal or bird. Sharon Guy Art

Portrait of aYellow and Black Labrador Retriever
This is a commission I am currently working on. Of course I am partial to labradors, being the proud owner of one myself. A labradors smile is way up there on appreciating the simple pleasures in life!
