Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Seascape, "Pacific Blue" 4x12" SOLD

Most of my seascapes are from the Atlantic, or the Caribbean, but today I am visiting the Pacific.

Purchase here
SOLD

My reference photo was taken a few years ago on a trip to California with my daughter and granddaughter. We were in San Francisco most of the trip, but one afternoon we drove south to Half Moon Bay.

For us east coasters, the Pacific was an untamed beast, quite different from our usually gentle Atlantic.  Just that fact that we were peering down from a cliff and that the brave souls who ventured to the beach were all ON THE SHORE was foreign.  Not that we do not have sunbathers on the shore, but there are ALWAYS bathers or surfers in the water, even on the coldest of days.

I decided to use a palette knife on this scene to help capture the power  and texture.

Abstract Daily Painting, "Layers", Seascape, 6x8" SOLD

SOLD

Well, maybe it's not exactly abstract, but it's not exactly impressionistic either.  I easily get confused over all the different types of "abstract" works.

Therefore, I will just proclaim that it is painted  freely and freshly, just like the sea.

What would you call this style?

Abstract Daily Painting,SOLD, Seascape, "Green Wave" 6x8"

Although I have been painting for over 20 years, I find, most of the time, it is a struggle, a case of give and take.  Some days I am pleased with the end results, some days, not so much!

This little painting is one I like.  It seemed to fall off my brush with very few strokes.  It is a very simple scene, and not to everyone's taste, but it made me feel good.

Thank you for viewing my little daily paintings.

Daily Painting, "Waves", Seascape, 6x8", Oil, SOLD

I enjoy trying to capture the feel of the surf rushing to shore on my canvas.

The ocean seems to have a different character and color each time I visit.  This is the east coast of Florida, while California is much more rugged and has a deep rich blue hue.

I like to use my daily paintings very informally in my home.  Just prop them up where ever the mood strikes! No frame necessary!

Daily Painting Seascape in Oil, 4x12" "Tropical Waters" SOLD

I love to do seascapes, especially with a palette knife, as it allows me to use plenty of texture.  I  like working with the ocean, it seems like a different place minute by minute.

How cool to have all this texture and all these shades of blue, aqua and green.

Being an artist is a good thing....I am very grateful.

Have a wonderful day!

Daily Painting, "Atlantic Seascape", 8x10" SOLD

Who does not love the sea? The beach is a place of healing and joy. The salt cleanses us and the sun embraces us in its warmth. The ocean heals the heart, mind, and soul.

SOLD
I have two loves, the sea and the mountains.  They both have their own beauty and are ever changing.  They both bring peace to my life.

I hope you find your own little slice of heaven this weekend.

Daily Painting, Oil, "The Beach at Sanibel", 6x8" SOLD

A recent trip to Sanibel brought me plenty of images to paint. Of course, the beach had to be the star.

SOLD
I had not visited the area for many, many years, and I must admit that I forgot how beautiful it is.  The water is aqua and clear, much like the tropical waters of the Caribbean Islands.

I passed this little group of sea oats every morning on the path to the sea.  My favorite activity was to walk the beach as the sun was rising, with only the occasional fisherman or shell hunter and lots of pelicans and gulls  for company.

SUNRISE REFLECTING ON THE SURF, SOLD 6x8, OIL DAILY PAINTING

I have not done a daily painting seascape for quite some time, so I ventured down to the beach just in time to see the sun come up.  It is beautiful to see the sunrise no matter where you are...but it is down right stunning when you are sitting on the beach.

I hope your day is as inspirational as mine was!
