"A Brilliant Day" by Sally Shisler $75

The sunny and very hot weather here in Florida can really take a toll on a plein air painters eyes. Especially if you're attempting to paint a stark white building at high noon. I always wear a hat, but for this I had to wear sunglasses too; something I don't usually do because of the color distortion. I think I worked around that pretty well though. The series of paintings that I've done this month have really paid homage to summertime afternoon lighting. I'm starting to feel very comfortable and more confident in my color mixing and value matching and I think that working in such high contrast conditions really does simplify things.
