Plein Air Painting by Sharon Guy
Pat's Garden, Oil on canvas, 14 in. x 11 in.
This is a plein air painting I completed in North Carolina during a workshop taught by Jean Blackburn at Ringling Wildacres. The Ringling College of Art and Design has July and October programs at Wildacres, a retreat in the Blue Ridge mountains, north of Asheville. I spent a week painting outside in the pleasant, dry air of North Carolina. While admiring this huge garden I was inspired to paint freely with a lot of bright colors. Plein air painting is a great way to get direct inspiration from what is in front of me. For more art visit my website at Sharon Guy Art.
