Thanks, first, to all of you who left comments on the moonrise painting below! Now, back to high contrast with this one. When there are this many different shapes in a little painting like this, it's impossible to give each one as much attention as you think you might like to. While the chapel is the intended main event, I decided not to make it the obvious focal point and let it run off the left edge of the painting for more interest. It has less treatment than any of the rest of the painting, but perhaps the most impact because of it's ambiguity. We've had SO much sun here in Florida this summer - I think some of what I'm looking at is permanently imprinted on my brain!
