Osprey Over St. John's River, Small Florida Oil Painting by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

Watching the osprey circle overhead, I was mesmerized. The large bird spotted fish in the tannic brown waters of the St. John's River and got them. Bright green aquatic plants lined the sides of the river next to mangroves, cypress and grasses. My easel, on a houseboat in the river, gave me a great view for painting plein air. 5" H x 7" W, Price: $125.00

A New Day Blooms, Plein Air Original Oil by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

"A New Day Blooms" framed 8x10 original plein air oil painting. I found out that Monet would go to the same site for days to complete a painting. If he could do that, so could I! I painted this one morning in a park. Later I went back and red flowers were blooming. I happily added the color. Thanks, Monet!

Bag of Oranges, a Florida Vintage Postcard Small OIl Painting by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

A bag of Florida oranges puts a smile on anyone's face. The mesh, draw-cord bags have been around for a long time. Inspired by a vintage Florida postcard, just-picked bags of oranges are still popular. Just look for the signs along the highway! 5 x 7" oil painting

Crate of Oranges, A Florida Vintage Postcard Small Oil Painting by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

Florida citrus was shipped in plain wooden crates until 1904 when Florida growers created distinctive labels pasted on the ends of the crates. These had art depicting Florida's exotic flowers, birds and animals. Gift crates had stenciled "from Florida", guaranteeing these were Florida oranges! This one was the Waverly Growers distinct label. Painted in oil from a vintage Florida postcard. 5x7".

Watching the osprey circle overhead, I was mesmerized. The large bird spotted fish in the tannic brown waters of the St. John's River and got them. The Courtyard, Small OIl Painting of Palms and Fountain by Judy Batterson

Florida has not only beautiful natural areas but also beautifully landscaped courtyards all over the state. I painted this one at Pointe Orlando while I was set up in front of Battersby Gallery there. Tourists love to watch artists paint! And I enjoyed the courtyard! 5"H x 7"W Price: $ 75.00

Morning at Little Econ River, a Florida Plein Air Oil Painting by Judy Batterson

I arrived at the Little Econ River early in the morning and set up my pochade box easel next to a small tributary of the river. Birds were fishing and flying as the water flowed quietly. It was such a peaceful experience of capturing misty light and shadow on the canvas. I ended up with a feeling of impressionism. 5"H x 7"W Price: $ 75.00
