Frisky, DMannion

Diane Mannion, Frisky, 6x6" oil
Man and friend playing at the beach near Stump Pass across from Palm Island.  The waves were the wake kicked up by boats heading out to the Gulf.  We kayaked out to this blissful spot along the intercoastal, took a short break and skirted along the beach on the way back.  Paddled right over a manatee!  Watched it's huge tail miss my kayak by inches as it glided away in the crystal, clear water.

Tahiti Sunset Oil Seascape by Phyllis O'Shields artist contemporary impressionism

TAHITI SUNSET

Oil Painting on Linen Canvas 24 x 36
by Phyllis O'Shields Artist Contemporary Impressionism
Painted partially en plein air

Tahiti is a mystical place at all times of day. The colours change constantly, the intensity and brightness of the colour is very difficult to believe when translated to canvas. I look forward to many more paintings of Tahiti capturing the mountains and water at different times of day. Truly a paradise.

Key West Storm Approaching Original Oil by Phyllis O'Shields Artist Contemporary Impressionism

KEY WEST STORM APPROACHING
Original Oil painting 30 x 40 inches
Phyllis O'Shields Artist Contemporary Impressionism

This painting was done on location before a hurricane reached shore. The emotion of incrediable cloud formations and the smell of an approaching storm was overwhelming.

The location here was being scouted for an outdoor painting workshop at a later date. The majority of this was painted en plein air. Studio work was required to finish the painting  due to winds that were to high to maintain the canvas stability.
