Heaven & Earth by Karen Taddeo

This 24x24 acrylic on canvas started out very different. I was painting last Friday and I heard the news of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.  I took a break, a long break, and came back to the painting. My direction started changing.   I just finished it late yesterday. It is dedicated to the memory of the 26 Angels we lost that day.

Old Florida, Framed Original Oil of Lake and Palm by Judy Batterson

Take a trip into the heart of Florida along trails next to lakes and creeks. There is dense foliage along the edge of the water. The lake reflects the blue sky and palms. Patches of sand and reeds are dotted along the water's edge. This is "Old Florida", a vast ecosystem of marshes and lakes. This is the old Florida I remember as a child when my friends and I would "go exploring" in the woods. In this painting, Florida's wild beauty translates into color and light. 8 x 10" framed original oil

Small Daily Floral Painting, 6x8" , Red and White by Carol Schiff Studio

Like all the rest of you, I am busy, busy, busy these days.  The holiday season passes in such a swirl of activity.  Rush, rush, rush!

$96 + 6.50

I decided to paint a floral still life with a holiday look, but not so "holiday" that it would look out of place the rest of the year.

I found this image in my computer files.  A little arrangement I did from the flowers in my garden in North Carolina.

I set the flowers in the window, creating nice back lighting.

I like to use black frames to really make the paintings pop.  How do you finish off your paintings?

Painting this little scene took all the stress out of my day.  When I had finished, I felt as refreshed as if I had taken a short nap.  Take a moment out of your day, take a deep breath, and try to enjoy the season.

McKean Gate, Entrance to Rollins College, Oil Painting of Winter Park Landmark by Judy Batterson

McKean Gate, Entrance to Rollins College: Walk through the McKean Gate and enter the beautiful campus of Rollins College in Winter Park! Honoring Hugh McKean, former president of Rollins, the gate is a tribute to the man who also brought the Tiffany glass collection to Winter Park. As I studied the gate, I had an "Abbey Road" flashback! Knowing that Paul McCartney's stepson goes to Rollins, I decided the paint the gate with the crosswalk in mind. As a young artist, I knew Mr. McKean. As a young person, I played the Beatles' songs! When I finished the painting, I thought of how both men had influenced my life in music and in art. The McKean Gate invites all to use their creative talents to touch others! And that is what Mr. McKean would have wanted. 14"H x 11"W original oil, Price: $ 450.00

If you live in or around Melbourne, Florida, you don't want to miss  PIECES OF EIGHT ANNUAL HOLIDAY SALE AND ALL AROUND GOOD TIME!   The last time we had a sale, it was so much fun.....even Google Earth showed up!!

Yes, that's us out there in the drive way having a great time.  We are 9 talented ladies with a lot to offer including, poetry, scarfs, pillows, earrings,  original paintings, cards, pottery, and much more.  Each year we do a group project to fund our annual trip to the mountains.  Last time we published a cook book featuring recipes we tested on our trip and artwork from each of us.  It was such a hit we had to re-order several times and still get requests for copies.

We put our heads together to come up with the perfect product to offer this year.  Eventually we settled on hand crafted earrings.  We have been working together the entire year on this project and did we have fun!

Just to make it even more unusal....WE PACKAGED THEM INDIVIDUALLY allowing you to
