The Cuban culture has had a wonderful influence on Florida. The food and music as well as the zest for life has inspired not only paintings but many restaurants, too. This painting was named after a restaurant that features a wall that looks like Old Havana. 16x20" oil on canvas.

Florida has been enriched by the Cuban culture. While researching the history of both, I found a restaurant in Central Florida that has created an Old Havana street scene in the restaurant interior. This inspired the painting! Then I listened to the local Rumba Brothers play the bongos and guitar which inspired the Cuban musicians in the painting. I found out the Royal Cuban palm tree can grow to 100ft! Cuban culture has brought so much to Florida...Cuban food like plantains and black beans and rice, mojitos, great dances like the cha cha and salsa, and emphasis on the importance of family.
