Abstract Painting, Four Seasons Series - Winter, Small Abstract Oil Paintings, 4x12x.75" Oil on Canvas, SOLD

This is the final installment of my Four Seasons Series, Winter.

With each painting, I tried to capture the feeling, of the season of the year, using only color.  It was a fun project to do.

Winter
This is not a good picture of "Winter" The actual painting has much more color variation and saturation.  Try as I might, I could not get a better image.

Spring

Tried to capture that "spring" feeling of new grass, flowering trees etc.

Summer

Summer...hot and salty....time for the beach!

Autumn

Autumn, falling leaves against bright blue skies.

Four Seasons Abstract Painting - Autumn, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 4x12x.75" Oil, SOLD

Today I am posting the 3rd of my abstract Four Seasons Series, Autumn.

SOLD

My goal was to represent each season, in an abstract form, using only color.  With this piece, I was thinking of pumpkins, falling leaves and shockingly blue skies.

Above is spring.

And this is Summer.

I will be posting "Winter" soon.

I had fun with this series and hopefully, I "stretched" by abstract skills a little.

Thanks for reading my blog today.

Spring Abstract Painting, Textured Art, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 6x8" Abstract

I enjoy playing around with color, trying to evoke emotion, simply with color.

purchase here

Since spring is just around the corner (thankfully), I named this "April Muse".

Turns out, it is actually a 3-D painting, as in places the paint stands out .5" from the canvas.

Hope you enjoy your day!

I found this useful oil paint guide and wanted to share it with you.

Small Coneflower Painting, SOLD, Flower Painting, Floral Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Floral Landscape

I planted coneflower (echinacea) around my home in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  So...of course, I had to paint them too.

SOLD

I find them to be easy to grown, and cheerful, with their giant heads and quirky style.

I painted several coneflower paintings last summer, in many sizes and styles.  Somehow, this little one was overlooked and never posted.

I tried to keep it fresh and simple, painting with a large brush.  I also tried to keep the colors harmonized.

All in all, I feel good about the results.  Hope you like it too.

Have a blessed day!

Flower Window Box Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Floral

I have always loved flower window boxes, but for some reason, I have never owned one.  Maybe that is why I have this urge to paint a few.

This is the second one I have painted recently....maybe a series is in the works.

As I write this, it is a beautiful fall morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Here is the view out my window.

The dogwoods have little red berries now.

It's begining to look a lot like autumn!

Window Flower Box Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, "My Flower Box", 6x8" Oil

I think everyone loves window flower boxes, overflowing with beautiful flowers.

This small daily painting is from a memory of Cape Cod, where it seems everyone has flower boxes. It is painted on canvas panel, in oil paint, and finished with a light coat of varnish.

I could not resist posting a few other Cape Cod window  boxes.

I like the patriotic flavor here.

How cheerful is this?

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for viewing my art today.

Rose Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8 Knife Oil Painting, Rose still life

I am trying to improve my knife techniques and came up with this piece last week.

I was slinging paint with my knife and kept it free and clean....so much fun!  I wanted to keep it loose and informal.

I like to show my small paintings in a black frame.  I think it shows most paintings well and really help the colors to pop.  Frames should accentuate the painting, but distract from it.

You may remember this companion piece, that I posted a few days ago.

Have a great day, and thanks for reading my blog.
