Oil Painting, The Gondolier, 8x10 Scene of Venice by Carmen Beecher

One of my favorite places I've ever visited is Venice. Its ancient beauty is the stuff of dreams. The only vehicles are boats, including fire, trash, buses, and commuter vehicles. Where else do you see office workers carrying briefcases and standing in a gondola?

Italian Man, 8x10 Original Oil Painting, Venice Scene

This man was waiting for a train outside Venice and the light was shining so beautifully on him. In spite of my digital camera having that delay before being able to snap the first shot, I did get the picture before our train pulled out of the station.

I hope I see Venice again before I shuffle off this mortal coil. What a beautiful and unique city.

Reflections on Venice, 14x11 Original Oil on Canvas by Carmen Beecher

NFS

As I was reflecting on my trip to Venice, I realized that I had never published this painting on my blog. Venice is a city I would love to revisit. I certainly understand why John Singer Sargent spent so much time in this beautiful and unique city. There is a painting around each corner.
