Sunrise on the Dunes, 6x8 Original Oil Painting, Seascape with Sunrise by Carmen Beecher

Florida sunrises are amazing, and seem even more so during thunderstorm season. We get all sorts of weather phenomena this time of year, and the rain is a welcome relief from the awful heat. Our pool was 90 degrees the other day, but after the rains it is 80 degrees. A big difference!

Cruising for Breakfast, 10x8 Oil Painting Seascape on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas by Carmen Beecher

The time to catch pelicans cruising over the waves is early morning or dusk. That's feeding time for marine creatures, which is the cue for humans to stay out of the water. Sharks do make mistakes now and then. They don't really find people very tasty.

I love the way pelicans look flying over the water so gracefully. Then when they are just sitting around they are the most unattractive, awkward creatures--drab fellows with very big mouths. They remind me of some Congressmen I know.

The Kiss, 5x7 Original Oil Seascape Painting by Carmen Beecher, Contemporary Fine Artist

$99, Click to Purchase
What could be better than the beach and kissing? I wonder if they were on their honeymoon? I love catching a moment in time like this, especially a romantic one.

Seascapes fascinate me. Every time I go to the beach, I see different colors, different formations of waves, different skies and interesting people. That's why I enjoy being a seascape painter.
