This painting is a good example of some of the techniques that I teach in my
Go Big Go Bold abstract
painting workshop. The canvas is heavily textured. Washes of color
are applied, scrubbed out and allowed to permeate into the distressed
surface of the canvas, creating a "history" upon which the painting
developed.
