"Abandonment" by Sally Shisler

The title applies to a couple of things here. Most obvious is probably the state of the lonely building. One that I see regularly while enjoying a bit of isolated land nearby with my favorite boy, Sarge. Another is the technical aspect of scraping a good deal of paint off the canvas after initially drowning the underlying sketch with it. I was quite unhappy with what I had done and decided it was time for a total wipe. After a few strokes of cleaning, I was left with values and hues that were far closer to what I had intended to begin with. I sat with it for a little while trying to reconcile the look of it in my head. With 2 or 3 clean, tiny strokes of paint added back on, I think it actually has a look of it's own - one that's sketchy, unkempt, and perhaps, dare I say, not even entirely cared for! I just thought I'd throw it out there to see what ya'll think. Anyone?
