Soooo, it was time today to try something different - a little shift of gears from the bright noontime scenes (which will likely be back again tomorrow...). As I mentioned a few posts back, the evenings in NC were spectacular. That time of day around 7-8pm when everything green is coming alive. The fragrance is overwhelming, one of my favorite smells! There was so much painting potential, but no time. So one by one the scenes passed and my heart broke (OK - that's a little dramatic...) knowing it would be a while before I'd have the opportunity to paint there again. But today I was looking through some of our photos, and there was just enough essence in them to jog my memory of how things looked each evening as we drove through Bat Cave. And I was able to put myself there again and mix the colors that tell about the time and the place. It may not seem like much as far as content goes, but I am really very, very happy with the effect that this little piece has.
